Job Title: Transport ManagerLocation: GlasgowRate: £18 per hourJob Description:Search Consultancy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transport Manager on a temporary 3 month initial contract to oversee transportation operations for one of our clients based in Glasgow. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with legal requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to transport activities. This is a crucial role, tasked with ensuring that the operator's license requirements are met through the effective management of policies, procedures, and compliance.Key Responsibilities:* Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance with relevant legislation.* Lead personnel activities, manage driver schedules, and liaise with operations departments to ensure smooth functioning of transport services.* Ensure compliance with drivers' hours and working time directive legislation, keeping accurate records as required by law.* Oversee the maintenance and safety of vehicles and associated plant, including MOTs, services, daily checks, and defect reporting.* Monitor driver behaviours and competence, maintaining records of assessments.* Conduct accident and incident investigations, providing outcome reports to senior management.* Ensure compliance with loading vehicle regulations and educate drivers as needed.* Implement processes to manage infringements, with the authority to sanction drivers for non-compliance.Qualifications and Skills:* A Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Road Haulage Operations (mandatory).* Extensive knowledge of transport legislation and compliance.* Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.* Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business.* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.* Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.* Ability to handle incident investigations and accountability processes.* Experience in managing supplier relationships.This is a temporary contract for an initial 3 month period with the possibility of being extended and permanent.To Apply:Please submit your resume and outlining your experience and qualifications to Andrew Miller at
