Technical Claims Adjuster - Professional Indemnity and Management Liability

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Claims Adjuster on behalf of our client, one of the leading brands in the UK insurance market.

The successful candidate will handle their own portfolio of Professional Indemnity and Management Liability Claims.

This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your experience and skillset whilst working in a varied and interesting role, with the support of an award winning UK Claims team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing your own portfolio of complex, higher value Professional Indemnity and Management Liability Claims from both Direct and Broker channels.
  • Reviewing and confirming the policy coverage position and setting the claims strategy, with minimal reference to external coverage lawyers.
  • Instructing and actively managing external advisors, including experts and panel solicitors as needed.
  • Liaising and negotiating with customers, brokers, claimants and their representatives, including attendance at mediations, regulatory and court hearings.
  • Identifying opportunities for contribution or subrogated recovery claims and pursuing those where appropriate.
  • Conducting peer audits and reviews of Casualty claims files, providing constructive feedback and identifying learning points for the Casualty claims team.
  • Developing and managing relationships with key internal stakeholders, particularly Underwriters and Schemes Account Managers.
  • Taking referrals from Delegated Authority Solicitors on policy coverage and strategy issues, and identifying any trends or areas for continuous improvement or learning.
  • Identifying trends and risk areas that are relevant to the company and its customers, and ensuring that these are reported to the appropriate stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • At least 6 years’ experience of Professional Indemnity / Management Liability Claims or Commercial Litigation, working as either a Claims Handler or within a law firm.
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to manage indemnity and fee spend, and understand the impact of claims decisions on the wider UK business.
  • Excellent customer service focus and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
