Our client

Our client offers exceptional services to the rolling stock industry, spanning across a range of varying types of stock, including heritage, passenger and freight transport. They offer a wide range of services, including modifications, overhauls and maintenance programmes to ensure the stock is safe, reliable and comfortable.
You will be responsible for:

* Identifying and implementing safe, cost-effective countermeasures to product issues, including but not limited to safety, reliability and passenger comfort issues.
* Leading teams on technical maintenance and modification campaigns, ensuring on-time delivery in a safe and cost-effective manner.
* Developing and building the companies technical engineering function.
* Planning, scheduling and delivering on BOM's, work instructions and electronic data recording form for planned maintenance activities
* Maintaining maintenance records of all activities related to specific projects ensuring they meet the requirements of the company and industry standards.
* Taking the lead on engineering change implementation to improve fleet and system performance and overall costs of maintenance
* Spearheading incident management activities

General requirements:

* HNC or above in some form of Engineering discipline
* Extensive experience in rolling stock maintenance or asset management activities
* Experience in project planning, governance and execution
* Strong engineering knowledge of traction rolling stock systems and maintenance legislation and regulations
* Knowledge of standard rail industry legislation and standards
* Strong understanding and awareness of health and safety
* Computer literate including all Microsoft packages
