This company supply into a few industries including defence and oil & gas. This role has became available due to winning new contracts and needing to further expand and improve their manufacturing process!

Responsibilities:

  • Work with design and production teams to translate customer and design requirements into clear shop floor instructions.
  • Promote and advise on design-for-manufacture principles during product development
  • Identify and resolve production or design challenges, implementing solutions to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Develop action plans and oversee them to completion.
  • Apply lean manufacturing techniques to minimise waste and optimise production processes.
  • Take the lead on or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Engage with customers and suppliers when necessary.

Who we're looking for:

  • Hands-on experience applying lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD or technical drawing software
  • Knowledge of fabrication processes (e.g., welding and assembly) is beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of design-for-manufacture principles
  • Experience in process optimisation and efficiency improvements is advantageous.
  • Proficient in using software such as AutoCAD (SolidWorks experience is a plus) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with colleagues, foster ideas, and drive improvements.
