If you have a strong background in bookkeeping, VAT compliance, and team management, this role offers the chance to lead a dedicated team while working closely with clients to provide high-quality financial services.Job Details and Benefits

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 9 bookkeeping staff, overseeing VAT returns and ensuring compliance.
  • Provide detailed management accounts analysis, interpretation, and presentations for clients.
  • Maintain bookkeeping records for a diverse client portfolio, ensuring accuracy up to the trial balance stage.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, post journals, and process payroll.
  • Handle CIS certificate preparation and submission.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for client queries, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and embrace new technologies.
  • Contribute to management meetings and play a key role in business strategy.
What We Are Looking For
  • Experience: At least 5 years of team management experience, ideally within an accountancy practice.
  • Technical Skills: Strong background in bookkeeping, payroll processing, and VAT compliance.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience using Sage Line 50, Sage Cloud, Xero, and Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Leadership & Communication: Confident in mentoring staff, managing diverse personalities, and fostering a positive team environment.
  • Additional Advantage: Experience with management accounts or an accounts background is highly desirable.
