We are working on behalf of a leading rail and civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Site Manager to oversee key infrastructure projects across Scotland. About the Role
As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for the on-site delivery of rail and civil engineering projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You will manage site teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive project success from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site activities, ensuring project milestones are met
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations and company policies
- Oversee site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain high-quality workmanship
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and resources, taking proactive measures to address any issues
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, engineers, and senior management
- Conduct site inspections, ensuring compliance with industry standards and contractual obligations
- Prepare and submit progress reports, risk assessments, and method statements
- Promote a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager in the rail or civil engineering sector
- Strong knowledge of rail infrastructure, maintenance, and construction projects
- SMSTS and PTS certifications
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and site teams
- Full UK driving license
