Job description

First Achieve's Engineering Division have an excellent opportunity for a CNC/Machine Tool Maintenance Engineer to join an established and growing company in the Glasgow region. Our client is an international manufacturer, dedicated to aerospace, defence and petrochemical industries world-wide.

This role will require you to lead and successfully deliver product introduction and continuous improvement projects, that optimise and enhance commercial success for the business, and provide the greatest satisfaction to customers.

Duties will involve the following:

  • Carry out Preventative Maintenance services to minimise downtime and maximise machine efficiency. This includes ordering and organising storing of parts relative to all Maintenance works i.e., Reactive Breakdowns, Machine Services and Project Work.
  • Assist with machine installation, relocation and decommission projects.
  • Repair/maintain CNC machinery in both reactive as well as a planned-out manner, to ensure optimum production capacity at all times. Ensure that any unresolved technical problems are escalated to the Maintenance Manager in a timely fashion.
  • Repair/maintain ancillary equipment in line with company requirements, ensuring optimum operation at all times.
  • Assist with Production facility improvements, as required.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of all equipment within the plant and facilities, keeping abreast of any additions to plant and improvement updates to machinery.
  • Input all data and continually update Production Control System and Asset Manager on PC.
  • Ensure all plant and machinery are kept in good working order, good housekeeping standards are maintained and assist with the smooth & efficient installation of new plant and machinery.

Essential skills, experience and knowledge:

The successful candidate must:

  • Proven background of knowledge and experience of CNC lathes, CNC Mills & 5-axix CNC machinery in a machine environment. This includes relevant qualifications and Apprenticeship.
  • Comfortable working on both electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Conversant/fluent in Engineering and Schematic drawings.
  • Be an effective and confident communicator.
  • Computer literate.
  • Able to work overtime if required and when required, to suit the needs of the business.
