Mechanical Design EngineerWe are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who thrives on developing new products from scratch, not just refining existing designs. You will play a key role in creating innovative automation systems, integrating mechanical, electronic, and motion control components into fully manufacturable products. This hands-on position requires creativity, problem-solving, and a proactive approach to prototyping and testing.KEY BENEFITS:

  • Permanent, full-time role (35 hours per week): Monday - Thursday: 9am-5pm, Friday: 9am-2pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new automation systems, integrating mechanical, electronic, and motion components
  • Generate ideas, create concept models, and test solutions through physical prototyping
  • Produce detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for manufacturing (Creo/SolidWorks)
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure efficient production processes
  • Plan and conduct testing, including liaising with certification bodies when necessary

Desirable Skills:

  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using integrated CAD tools
  • CAD rendering (KeyShot or equivalent)
  • Experience with automation control programming

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or HND in Product Design Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Mechanical Design Engineering or a related field
  • Strong expertise in 3D CAD software (Creo, Pro-Engineer, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
  • Experience detailing components and assemblies for mass production
  • Strong visualisation and drawing skills
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work within a close-knit development team
  • Ambitious, creative, and eager to take on challenges in a fast-paced engineering environment
