Founded in 1913 in Glennon Brothers has been manufacturing high-quality timber products and is now the premier name in the Irish and UK timber processing industry. Through Glennon Brothers plants in Longford and Fermoy, and Windymains Timber and Troon in Scotland, we supply both the Irish and UK markets with products for the construction, pallet wood and fencing industries.

With over 100 people on our team, we specialise in the manufacture, supply and installation of Timber Frame Homes and Engineered Roof Trusses to the construction industry and also to one-off self builders.

The Site Maintenance Manager Opportunity:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will have in-depth knowledge and experience in heavy industry with a proven track record in good manufacturing practice and lean principles. You will be responsible for all maintenance mechanical and electrical work, automation, site projects and maintenance systems on the Troon sawmill site.

You will work closely with operations to manage the Troon sawmill production capacity to deliver on the Group’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Leading the Maintenance team of fitters and electricians to deliver high performance process efficiency+ Demonstrating strong leadership and team management skills+ Ensuring the Maintenance function operates to the site required Health, Safety and Environmental standards+ Planning and developing PEMAC / CMMS systems to deliver maximum line/process efficiency+ PEMAC / CMMS utilisation from a scheduling, stores and purchasing perspective+ Implementing best plant practices in process engineering & maintenance systems+ Developing the Maintenance team's capability and skills, leading performance reviews, training and individual on the job coaching+ Developing Maintenance Lean Systems using tools and techniques to meet continuous improvement targets+ Working with external contractors and installations companies to complete inhouse maintenance

About you:

+ Qualification in Engineering - mechanical & electrical background, or related field or equivalent knowledge and experience+ Minimum 10 years’ maintenance/engineering management experience is essential+ Sawmilling or heavy industry experience is an advantage+ Knowledge of maintenance strategies e.g. RCM, TPM, Asset Management is desirable+ Knowledge and experience to promote a safe working environment+ Able to lead by example, with a "can do" approach, passion and energy+ Strong leadership and people management skills+ Very strong organisation skills and attention to detail+ Drive to exceed goals and push self and others towards high levels of performance+ Open to change with a capacity to deal comfortably with risk and uncertainty+ Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships
