Telco Project Engineer
Contract - 6 months - extendable - Outside IR35
Location - Covering Central / Southern Scotland
Rates 300-350 per day

Responsible for the successful delivery of various projects and maintenance of the SPEN telecoms networks. This role involves the strategic planning and delivery of installation & commissioning projects. Working alongside the field, project and network operation teams you will also provide technical representation at customer meetings, assist with critical faults and complete end of job documentation to an excellent standard.

* SPEN Authorisations would be highly desirable.
* Previous work experience as a field engineer in the telecoms sector
* Previous knowledge of working within data centres, telephone exchanges, fibre exchanges, PCPs, DSLAMs, customer HUB/outstation sites or substations
* Knowledge of IP networks, Cisco, Alcatel & Nokia devices
* A high focus on health and safety at work.
* Full Driving Licence
* Experience in the following would be highly beneficial:
- Rack, charger and telecoms equipment installation & commissioning to an excellent standard
- Performing Industry standard testing as required on telecoms and antenna systems e.g. BERT (E1 & Ethernet), RF sweeps, PIM, TDR, OTDR & OSCAR tests
- Routine maintenance inspections on spare fibres and battery chargers
- Completion of site surveys to enable installation
