Overview:

Our client is an award-winning medium sized engineering consultancy with offices throughout Scotland. Currently they have a headcount of 70+ staff.

They are considered a traditional multi-disciplinary with projects spanning across multiple sectors that include Brewing and Distilling, Industrial, Commercial, Hotels, Education, Leisure and Residential.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our team, contributing your expertise in various building structures. Although this role is more of a client facing role than a traditional design position, our client is looking for individuals with a strong understanding of Structural design and engineering principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Review the structural design of mainly industrially focused projects.
  • Liaise closely with clients, maintaining current client relationships whilst attracting new business.
  • Represent the business at various networking events.
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Ensure compliance and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
  • Extensive experience in structural engineering, with a focus on building structures.
  • Chartered status with a recognised engineering institution (desired).
  • Strong proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
