iMultiply are working on an exciting opportunity for Payroll Systems Specialist to join a public sector organisation driving a digital transformation project to modernise its payroll and HR systems. This role will be based from their Glasgow office and is offered on a 12 month contract basis, paying up to £50,000. The Role This pivotal role will oversee process design, system integration, and ensure compliance with statutory and organisational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the payroll work-stream of the HCM project, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and digital strategies.
- Collaborate with HR teams, technical experts, and external partners to design, test, and implement payroll solutions.
- Ensure payroll processes comply with statutory requirements, including PAYE, pensions, and year-end reporting.
- Manage system integration for payroll operations, including pay runs, quality assurance, BACs files, and financial ledger interfaces.
- Deliver accurate and timely payroll outputs, ensuring the system meets contractual and legislative requirements.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures and risk management strategies for payroll operations.
- Oversee the production of statutory returns (e.g., P60s) and compliance with reporting requirements to HMRC and external bodies.
- Engage with senior stakeholders, providing regular updates, insights, and performance metrics related to payroll processes.
Experience Required
- Experience as a Payroll Manager with knowledge of payroll compliance is essential
- Experience leading payroll system implementations or upgrades
- In-depth knowledge of payroll systems, pension legislation, and tax regulations.
- Strong project management skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to diagnose issues, recommend solutions, and implement improvements.
- A systematic and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
On Offer This is a 12 month contract with a large public sector organisation paying competitive salary of £45,000 - £50,000.
