Overview
The Workshop and Compliance Administrator will work closely with the transport team, managing planned and reactive tasks across both the commercial and industrial sectors. You will assist the Compliance Manager in overseeing compliance for the commercial vehicle fleet, ensuring that all transport policies and legislative requirements are adhered to in line with operator licence undertakings.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring and maintaining driver records.
- Collecting, validating, and actioning driver defect/daily check documentation.
- Facilitating the collection, validation, and actioning of driver hours records, including logbook and tachograph data.
- Assisting with driver briefings, inductions, and toolbox talks on policies and legislative updates.
- Conducting site visits to ensure compliance is being adhered to, with detailed documentation of all visits.
- Supporting driving licence checks, DCPC training, and other transport competencies.
- Conducting random checks on driver documentation and vehicle roadworthiness.
- Assisting the Transport Manager with investigations related to transport and compliance.
- Coordinating MOTs, weekly inspections, and regularly updating the maintenance planner.
- Completing administrative tasks related to insurance and accident claims.
- Reporting near misses and supporting a culture of safety and quality.
- Taking personal accountability for actions and ensuring all duties are carried out to the highest standard.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in IT systems, including Word and Excel.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to deliver clear and engaging briefings.
- Familiarity with LGV operations (preferred but not essential).
- A full UK Driving Licence (LGV preferred but not essential).
- Previous experience in road transport operations and/or vehicle engineering is highly desirable.
