Job description

First Achieve's Engineering Division have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Inspector to join an established and growing company in the Glasgow region. Our client is an international manufacturer, dedicated to aerospace, defence and petrochemical industries world-wide.

  • Dayshift Mon to Thurs: 7am to 4pm, Fri 7am to 12pm.

This role will require you to lead and successfully deliver product introduction and continuous improvement projects, that optimise and enhance commercial success for the business, and provide the greatest satisfaction to customers.

Duties will involve the following:

  • Maintaining inspection records
  • Processing non-conforming products
  • Check and calibrate measuring equipment
  • Process returns
  • Perform first inspection methods
  • Observe H&S policy
  • Maintain and support 6S activities

Essential skills, experience and knowledge:

The successful candidate must:

  • Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Awareness in CMM setting, interpretation and reporting
  • Calibration of equipment
  • Using manual measuring equipment
  • Correct manual handling observances
  • Computer literacy
  • HSE and AS9100 awareness

Desirable experience can include:

  • Awareness in PC-DMIS
  • CMM experience
  • Critical parts awareness
