Role Overview:

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a leading Building Services Contractor based in Glasgow. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing and delivering mechanical services on large-scale new build projects within both the public and private sectors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage mechanical engineering tasks throughout project execution, ensuring that quality, budget, and timelines are met.

  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment with project specifications and requirements.

  • Provide leadership and direction to the mechanical team, ensuring optimal performance and productivity.

  • Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, verify quality of work, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensure all projects adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Address and manage any changes, claims, or variations as they arise during the project lifecycle.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to help secure future business opportunities.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • A background in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, building services, and engineering practices.

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a proven track record of managing teams effectively.

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks while paying close attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of industry standards, health and safety regulations, and best practices.

  • Experience in project scheduling, cost control, and resource management.
