Your new companyA well-established residential property developer and housebuilder, based in the UK, has been a key player in the housing market for several decades. Renowned for its dedication to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, this company is publicly listed and recognised within the industry. Due to growth within this organisation, they have created a new role within their procurement team for a buyer. Your new roleReporting to the Procurement Manager, the role of buyer supports the day to day management of procurement costs for the division, compliance with group purchasing arrangements, collection of rebates and the setting and monitoring of materials budgets to deliver the business unit output in the most timely, efficient and cost-effective manner possible.Principal accountabilities of the role include:

  • Ensuring competitive procurement of materials and plant as dictated by individual project specifications.
  • Administering and assisting with monitoring of Material Rebate claims.
  • Monitoring supplier performance.
  • Preparing Contract Material Budget.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the Material Budget as contract progresses.
  • Issuing tender enquiries and analysing quotations.
  • Preparing material take-off from contract drawings.
  • Preparing material schedules on Excel for supplier and site use.
  • Production of computer generated Purchase Orders.
  • Issuing orders to enable waste management systems to be implemented on sites.
  • Collating and submitting statistical analysis as required.

What you'll need to succeedYour previous experience in a buying role with knowledge of take offs, schedules and budgets required will lead to your success. The ability to work to deadlines under pressure. Be able to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders at all levels. Previous experience within counstruction or house building is required for this role.

What you'll get in returnYou will be offered a salary of £38k per annum with a company car allowance of £5250. This role is 4 days in the office and 1 day wfh. Each year you will receive 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays (there is also an option to purchase more).
