Anderson Knight is currently recruiting an IT Buyer on a full time permanent basis for one of our clients based in Glasgow.

The IT Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing IT hardware, software, and services to meet the company's technology needs. This role requires a strong understanding of the IT market, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for IT hardware, software, and services.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to achieve the best value.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for IT products and services.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of IT equipment to ensure availability and minimise costs.
  • Collaborate with IT, finance, and other departments to understand and meet their procurement needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
  • Resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing of purchased IT items.
  • Stay updated on market trends, new products, and emerging technologies.
  • Develop and implement strategies for cost savings and process improvements in IT procurement.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of IT hardware, software, and services.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is a plus.
