Duties:

Working within our client's organisation in their Major Programme & Project Delivery team (MPP), they are accountable and responsible for the delivery of infrastructure capital?projects.

MPP provides infrastructure project delivery SME input to the early development of programmes and projects. MPP also directs and advises DE&S on all infrastructure aspects of hybrid projects, including nuclear. PPD operates through a geographically dispersed organisation.??

About the role

Our Client is seeking a proactive engineering, project management or commercial professional to lead on the production of NEC4 contract scope documentation. In addition to authoring sections of the scope documents, this role will coordinate, review and collate input from the other specialists in the Client team including engineering, quality, information management, project controls, etc.

The role will be working within the Project Management function, the Scope Author will work with the Project Manager and Commercial Departments to support procurement events from identification of a need, through to contract award to a successful supplier. Whilst the primary focus will be on development of the scope documentation, it is anticipated that this individual will be involved in subsequent stages such as review of supplier proposals against the intended scope.

The role will be primarily based in Glasgow, with occasional visits to site when required for a specific purpose.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a related role with regular involvement in contract management - either pre- or post-contract stages. This experience could be gained from project management, technical or commercial roles.
  • Experience preparing or implementing a range of forms of NEC4 contracts, with strong knowledge of how Scope packages are constructed.
  • Confident communicator in both written and face-to-face environments. Comfortable working both within a team, and autonomously as required.
  • Detail orientated, with concise and articulate manner to ensure scope information is portrayed in an effective manner.
  • Organised approach to ensure deadlines are established, monitored and achieved across the full team contributing to the scope documents.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a Nuclear regulated environment (or similar regulated industry)
  • Experience of working within the MoD estate, Faslane experience would be beneficial.
  • Conversant with CEMAR contract management software.

Due to the nature of the work and the client, security clearance will be required for this position.
