A specialist construction business is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for any recently qualified Quantity Surveyors looking to develop their careers. It will afford you to advance your career in quantity surveying while gaining valuable experience within the construction industry. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimation and Planning: Assisting in preparing accurate cost estimates and budgets.
  • Tender Support: Reviewing tender documents, helping to identify risks, and contributing to the preparation of bids.
  • Procurement: Supporting the procurement process by liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Contract Administration: Assisting in managing contracts, including preparation, issuing variations, and tracking changes.
  • Financial Reporting: Helping to prepare cost value reconciliations, monitor cash flows, and track project profitability.
  • Measurement and Valuations: Performing on-site measurements and valuations to ensure accurate reporting of work progress.
  • Client and Stakeholder Liaison: Supporting communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project objectives.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensuring all project documentation complies with company standards and relevant regulations.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork.
  • Relevant work experience or a placement year in a similar role (preferred but not essential).
