Position Overview:

Please Note:This opportunity is based in the Caribbean region and requires relocation for the successful applicant.

This is an exclusive opportunity for a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join a successful Contractor in the Turks and Caicos Islands. This is a rare opportunity where candidates without prior overseas experience will be considered although those with prior Caribbean or remote location experience will get first refusal. The business operate within the high-end residential, leisure and hospitality sectors with a full and growing order book into 2025. The position would most likely suit someone with at least 5-years post-qualification experience as a Quantity Surveyor.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Bills of Quantities (including take-offs)
  • Conducting cost analysis and preparing cost estimates for construction projects
  • Reviewing project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required
  • Preparing and managing project budgets and cash flows
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers including reviewing and processing their interim payment applications as well as negotiating contracts and resolving disputes
  • Materials procurement
  • Working knowledge of main and sub-contracts
  • Monitoring and controlling project costs, preparing and analyzing project cost reports, and forecasting future costs
  • Providing advice and recommendations to project teams on cost and contract related matters
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
  • Preparing RFP's, evaluating responses and issuing of subcontracts
  • Preparing detailed Scope of Works

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Accreditation to the RICS would be advantageous


Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years' industry experience
  • Proven track record of successfully leading larger projects or managing multiple smaller projects
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, motivate and support the team
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the Caribbean region - not essential but advantageous
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required


Pay range and compensation package:

  • Salary: US$100,000 (tax-free)
  • Package: Housing provided for length of time plus vehicle and health insurance
