Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for our client a well-established and expanding business delivering a wide range of projects across the built environment. They are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and support ongoing works across Scotland.

Role Overview:

This role will focus on managing all commercial and contractual aspects of projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, operational teams, and subcontractors to ensure effective cost control, contract compliance, and financial reporting across a diverse portfolio of works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, and valuations for ongoing projects
  • Oversee procurement and subcontractor management, including tendering and contract negotiation
  • Administer contracts, ensuring compliance and management of any changes or variations
  • Carry out regular site visits to monitor progress and conduct measurements
  • Produce monthly reports, forecasts, and final accounts
  • Provide commercial support to operational teams, advising on risk and value management
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation aligns with project milestones

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within a mechanical, electrical, building services, facilities, or property management company
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong working knowledge of construction contracts such as JCT and NEC
  • Excellent numeracy, commercial awareness, and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider project team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant commercial software packages
