We are looking to appoint a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our client's well established company.

The company is a long established family owned Painting & Decorating business having gained an excellent reputation over the years.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring financial efficiency, and contributing to the overall success of construction projects. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control methodologies and the ability to work collaboratively with various key members

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, ensuring all financial aspects are considered.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, implementing cost control measures as necessary.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on project specifications and costs.
  • Prepare tender documents and manage the tendering process, including evaluating bids and negotiating contracts.
  • Provide regular reports on project financial status to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to construction costs.
  • Assist in resolving any disputes related to costs or contracts during the project lifecycle.

Experience

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry and interior finishes is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
