About the Role

We're looking for a driven and strategic Business Development Manager to join our growing team, focusing on the public sector. In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for identifying, managing, and securing tender opportunities across the public and private sectors, with a strong emphasis on construction-related bids.

From identifying new opportunities to managing the entire bid lifecycle, you’ll play a key part in driving revenue and supporting the company’s strategic growth. Your construction background, tender expertise, and strong client network will be essential to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and qualify public and private sector tender opportunities

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end bid process, ensuring accurate and timely submissions

  • Collaborate with internal teams and utilise bid management tools to streamline processes

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with procurement professionals and decision-makers

  • Work closely with estimators and stakeholders to deliver competitive, compelling proposals

  • Track bid progress and maintain records of outcomes and performance

  • Provide market insights to help shape future business development strategies

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven background in the construction industry

  • Experience in public sector business development or tender management

  • Strong knowledge of procurement frameworks and public sector tendering processes

  • Solid understanding of technical sales and revenue generation

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders

  • Proficient in managing multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously

  • Confident working collaboratively across departments

  • Organised, self-motivated, and results-oriented
