Finance Assistant

Join our client, a third sector organisation, as a Finance Assistant. This role is integral to our clients operations, providing essential bookkeeping and financial support to enhance their services. You will be instrumental in ensuring accurate financial reporting and efficient credit control.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Generate and issue detailed sales invoices continuously.
- Process all purchase transactions
- Complete bank reconciliation queries daily
- Escalate bad debts using agreed credit control protocols and reporting procedures
- Download data and process monthly bank payments for freelance contractors
- Conduct monthly reconciliations between multiple platforms, bank payments, and Sage Accounts
- Issue monthly statements and payment reminders to customers
- Update the debt control spreadsheet weekly with actions taken
- Attend monthly Accounts Management meetings to report on and action bookkeeping queries
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous relevant work experience with a strong working knowledge of Sage
- Experience in a finance/bookkeeping role
- High level of organisational and work scheduling skills
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to efficiently handle telephone enquiries
- High competency with office applications such as Email, Word, Excel
- IT proficiency in learning/adapting to bespoke systems
- Commitment to the aims and objectives of the charity
- Flexible working approach and excellent time management skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
