Successful Scottish FinTech SaaS organisation, with offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, are on the lookout for a Platform Engineer to join their Platform Engineering team to work on their market-leading product - Hybrid Working (two days in office per week).

They've been operating very successfully across the UK and have managed to increase their headcount by 50% over the last 5 years as they continue through a significant period of growth. We've worked with this organisation for several years now and have heard great things first-hand, they have a really good technical environment, strong employee culture and as a result great retention rates.

They are looking to bring in some new talent to help to build and architect the infrastructure that supports their main product, whilst focusing on automating the configuration and deployment of this infrastructure. This means that working with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and Ansible would equip you well for this role. Additionally, experience working on an Azure platform in a cloud-focused environment is essential.

The Platform Engineer will join one of their core squads to work with both internal and external stakeholders on their flagship product, so previous experience working in a SaaS environment would be beneficial. The team is relatively small and consists of some experienced engineers, where you will work to ensure that their platforms are developed correctly and performing well for their users. You will also collaborate closely with other teams to ensure the infrastructure is both deployed and maintained.

You'll ideally have experience with the following;

  • Networking Concepts
  • Commercial experience with Azure and Azure DevOps Pipelines
  • Infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Good SQL skills (MsSQL, Azure SQL Database)
  • Working within a Linux environment

They are massive on career progression and the personal development of their staff, they multiple members of staff that have been with the business for several years now and have really grown into senior positions with the business. It's genuinely a really interesting and technically challenging role within a growing, yet well-established (and financially secure) tech organisation.

You will need to be a commutable distance from either their Glasgow or Edinburgh office as they require you to be in the office at least 2 days per week. However, they do have really inviting and modern offices which makes it all really worthwhile. In return, they're able to offer a salary of between £35k-£50k and have some really strong benefits too which include:

  • Private medical insurance
  • 34 days of holiday, including 8 public holidays
  • Bonus scheme
  • Extensive access to learning and development platforms
