The role of a Children's Support Practitioner at night is a very special one. Life can be challenging for some of our children and being there to protect them, being the one they turn to and rely upon gives you the opportunity to build some of the most meaningful relationships we have with our children.

Due to an increase in demand for our services we are now looking for a Children's Support Worker to join our team on a full time permanent basis working nights. Whilst the role is based our of our house in Dumbrock, just a few minutes drive from Bearsden and Milngavie, over time you will be rostered to work in one of our other centrally located houses. So if you like meeting people, enjoy a role where no two days are the same and where you can make a big impact this could be the role for you.

You’ll play a vital role in assessing children’s needs and supporting them in implementing positive improvements in their lives. As part of a close-knit team, you’ll take a ‘whole-child’ approach focusing on everything from completing everyday tasks to improving relationships.

What is especially exciting about this role is that its mobile. That means you will have the opportunity to work across the various residential houses that we operate. Your base house with be our beautiful Dumbrock House, with lots of space for you to engage with our children. However you could also be rostered to work in one of our other houses and work with the children who stay there. So the impact of your work will be felt across all our houses and children. We understand that in order to deliver great support to our children you will need to know when and where you are working so all that will be planned in advance with you. Mileage will be paid from Dumbrock House to where ever you are working that night.

Ideally, you’ll have an HNC Social Care and SVQ Level 3 qualification, plus some experience in a care or education role. However, if you’ve got an emphatic approach with the ability to see beyond behaviour to the reasons why, we’ll provide full training for the role. You’ll also need a driving licence.
