Be-IT is partnering with a leading Scottish organization to recruit a Xamarin Software Engineer for a full-time, permanent role based in Glasgow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Software Development: Design, code, test, document, and refactor complex programs and integration services, ensuring adherence to industry standards, security measures, and tools. Monitor progress, identify issues, and propose effective solutions. Participate in code reviews for both your own work and that of colleagues.
- Software Design: Collaborate with your team to design moderately complex software applications or components. Define interfaces, evaluate different options, and consider both functional and non-functional requirements to deliver secure, scalable, robust, and maintainable solutions.
- Specialist Advice: Provide expert guidance on the planning and operation of mobile applications. Stay up-to-date with advancements in mobile technologies, and collaborate with other specialists to ensure that the advice you provide is accurate and professionally sound.
- Systems Integration and Build: Utilize appropriate build automation tools to produce builds from system components. Conduct integration testing as outlined in test specifications, documenting any failures. Analyze and report on testing results, identifying issues and risks.
Essential Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven commercial experience in mobile development for iOS and Android using C# and .NET with Xamarin, and more recently, MAUI.
- Strong understanding of mobile application architectures.
- Solid experience with SQL technologies, with a focus on performance and security considerations that ensure the safety of customer data and the performance of the application.
- Experience in cloud platform development, particularly with Azure, Kubernetes, and Azure SQL.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices—an agile mindset is integral to our culture.
- Experience with CI/CD, automation (e.g., Infrastructure as Code), and collective code ownership practices, using tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub.
Nice-to-Have Skills (Not Essential):
- Comfort working with Java, Swift, and AWS. You may be involved in the process of re-writing and modernizing a system built on these technologies.

- Full time permanent role
- Glasgow based with Hybrid working (twice per fortnight in office expected)
- £55-60k DOE + 10% bonus - slightly more can be offered for an exceptional candidate
