Python Engineer

Contract - PAYE

Glasgow - Hybrind (on-site 60%) 12 months+

FPSG seek and experienced Python engineer to join a bespoke tooling, automation and solutions team, with autonomy and technical creativity, embedded in a global market leader organisation. This squad development environment needs a strong software engineer who has excellent core Python (additional skills include Java, TypeSctipt, JavaScript, DevOps Exposure, Cloud knowledge) and the ability to influence the design & architecture of the applications, services and tooling around them.

To be successful you will have:

  • Current and practical advanced expertise using Python; with additional skills in Java, C++ or other OO language.
  • Strong JavaScript & TypeScript
  • Must have strong technical skills in contributing to complex enterprise level systems
  • Should possess excellent object-oriented design skills, OOA / OOD
  • Experience with multi-tiers and service-oriented architecture
  • In addition RDBMS, exposure and understanding on NoSQL / Hadoop is desired
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle and agile development practices. TDD / BDD
  • Strategic thinking, collaboration and consensus building skills

Please note: **Familiarity with DevOps is important, but this is NOT a DevOps role, the Python engineering is to build Tooling, Automation, Tracking, Testing and Quality Tools that the Development and DevOps community to use.

Please note: **This role does offer hybrid working, but team collaboration and engagement does average 3 days a week On-Site in Glasgow City Centre, as such living in a direct commutable distance from Glasgow City is required.
