Are you a Software Developer who is looking for an opportunity to help a Public Service improve their platforms?

Our Glasgow based client is a Software Developer in Test to join their team on an initial 6 month contract. The successful applicant will join the team that is building a secure and sustainable platform that will allow the client to enhance the service they offer and improve the business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a small team of Software Developer in Test specialists ensuring test plans are understood, integrated, delivered and automated where possible
  • Coordinate and manage test schedules
  • Build and maintain testing artefacts, looking ahead for future opportunities or blockers, and ensuring decisions by teams align with the strategy
  • Identify operational improvements and work to ensure a stable service that can be enhanced
  • Anticipate and mitigate against project challenges or risks
  • Work with and support third parties in providing testing services
  • Create test frameworks and automation tests for migration of data as part of our re-platforming project (AWS to AWS migration).

Key Applicant Requirements

  • Proficient in test automation (GitHub Actions) and Selenium/WebDriver.
  • Strong in Java, JavaScript, and BDD tools (Gherkin/Cucumber), with AWS and Linux environment experience.
  • Skilled in databases such as MariaDB, Oracle, MySQL, or AWS Aurora, with over 2 years of MySQL scripting in cloud data migration projects.
  • AWS data migration testing experience, including Athena for S3 and AWS Data Migration Service.
  • Adept at making risk-assessed decisions, explaining reasoning clearly, and resolving technical problems.
  • Effectively translates technical concepts for non-technical teams and manages stakeholder relationships.
  • Provides mentoring and knowledge sharing with both technical and non-technical colleagues

This role will require applicants to attend the Glasgow office on a regular basis. The role is Outside IR35 with a max day rate of £500.
