Our client is a highly reputable construction contractor with a long-standing history of delivering large-scale, high-profile projects across the UK. They are currently looking for a Senior Construction Estimator from a civils background to join their team and help drive their growth.

The Role:

As a Senior Construction Estimator with civils experience, you will play a vital role in the budgeting and planning of both upcoming projects and ongoing projects. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the cost estimates, forecasts, and schedules for the construction projects. You will work closely with the project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors, and will oversee the development of detailed project cost estimates and the preparation of comprehensive project budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

* Developing cost estimates, forecasts, and schedules for projects

* Preparing and submitting bids for new projects

* Reviewing and interpreting project plans and specifications

* Preparing, reviewing, and approving subcontractor and vendor proposals

* Identifying cost-saving opportunities and developing creative solutions

* Maintaining accurate budgets and working to ensure project profitability

Skills and Experience Required:

* Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field

* At least ten years of relevant experience in a main contracting environment

* Civils experience is essential

* Experience working on large-scale projects is essential

* Excellent knowledge of construction regulations, building codes, and legal requirements

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* In-depth knowledge of construction practices and procedures

* Proficient computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Excel and Estimating Software
