The CompanyWe are pleased to be working exclusively with a well established food manufacturing business in the Glasgow area. The business has gone through some substantial change over the previous couple of years and they are now looking to recruit an S&OP Manager to help them to really motor forward within their supply chain functionThe RoleThis newly created role will take overall responsibility for the design, implementation and management of best practice S&OP processes to support the business’s operations. They will  ensure those processes optimize customer satisfaction, forecast accuracy and factory efficiencies whilst minimising inventory levels and material write offs.Some of the key responsibilities will be:
  • To lead the overall Sales and Operational Planning Process across both manufacturing sites
  • To partner with the Commercial and Operational teams to ensure the forecasting process delivers an agreed upon, workable volume forecast
  • To lead weekly S&OP review meetings, ensuring all necessary data and metrics are available for review
  • Communicating key conclusions from S&OP meetings to stakeholders
  • Recommend and maintain optimal inventory levels at various stages in the supply chain
  • Ensure that all business planning tools used in sales and operations are accurate, updated, maintained and available for use by key users and senior management
  • Analyse promotional requests and sign-off based on volume forecast and capacity.
  • Actively work with manufacturing to identify capacity constraints.
  • Influence operational plans and material write offs as well as Supply Chain KPI’s.
  • Develop and maintain a rolling forecast and drive the entire forecasting process for the business.
  • Work with the Group Procurement Manager to evaluate supplier delivery performance and capability

  • A successful track record within food manufacturing or other FMCG operation.
  • Demonstrable experience of previous implementation of a formal Sales & Operations Planning process.
  • An outstanding team worker with the ability to resolve problems collaboratively.
  • Ability to convert data and findings into applied, specific information making suggestions that add value to the business planning process.
  • Knowledge of and ability to make projections into the future and use these projections to help plan future operations.
  • Commercially astute.
  • Exceptional knowledge and understanding of relevant IT systems and packages
