Position OverviewBased at the Glasgow Head office, our Client is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Supply Chain Specialist to manage inventory across all their offices and optimise the supply chain processes. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will be instrumental in implementing aunifiedERP/MRP system, exploring the use of AI to drive supply chain efficiency, and handling global logistics by negotiating terms with logistics partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining safety stock levels, managing supplier relationships, and developing scorecards to assess supplier performance.Key ResponsibilitiesInventory and ERP/MRP System Implementation
- Oversee inventory levels across their global offices, maintaining safety stock that meets market demand and reduces stockouts.
- Lead the implementation of a single ERP/MRP system, either by enhancing our current home grown system or selecting a new platform, to streamline tracking and forecasting.
- Utilise AI-based tools within the ERP/MRP system where applicable to improve demand forecasting, inventory management, and order optimisation.
- Identify opportunities to introduce AI-based technologies to enhance supply chain efficiency, such as predictive analytics for demand forecasting, automated stock replenishment, and AI-driven supplier assessment tools.
- Monitor the impact of AI tools on supply chain performance and adjust strategies to maximise value.
- Manage global logistics by negotiating terms with transportation and logistics partners, ensuring optimal cost structures and service levels.
- Develop and oversee logistics processes for inbound and outbound shipments, tracking key metrics such as delivery times, freight costs, and route efficiency.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure delivery timelines and product quality meet requirements, using scorecards to track and report on performance.
- Work with the Head of Quality to address supplier issues, implementing corrective actions where necessary and improving supplier reliability.
- Design and implement standardised processes to enhance inventory management and supply chain efficiency.
- Track and report on key supply chain metrics, including Inventory Turnover Ratio to measures the rate of stock utilisation.
- Order Fulfilment Cycle Time which tracks order processing efficiency.
- Supplier On-Time Delivery, Ensuring consistency in supply timelines.
- Freight Cost per Unit, monitoring logistics cost-effectiveness.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. Certifications in supply chain or logistics (e.g., APICS, CPIM, and CSCP) are a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years in supply chain or logistics management, with expertise in ERP/MRP systems and experience implementing or utilizing AI-driven tools in a supply chain context.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with ERP/MRP and AI-based analytics for inventory and supply chain optimization. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Negotiation and Communication Skills: Proven ability to negotiate with logistics providers and build productive supplier relationships. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse supply chain data to make strategic recommendations for efficiency and process improvements.
