Job Title:Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical)
Location: Glasgow
Salary: Up to 48k
Purpose:
Ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems on-site, minimising downtime, maximising efficiency, and maintaining safety and reliability.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems, including power distribution, control panels, motors, and lighting.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
- Respond to breakdowns and emergencies, resolving issues promptly.
- Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance programme.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
- Calibrate and test equipment to ensure accurate performance and compliance.
- Maintain detailed records of engineering activities and provide updates to Production Managers.
- Promote a safety-first culture, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide guidance and training on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
- Liaise with external contractors regarding servicing and maintenance needs.
Performance Measures:
- Achievement of preventative maintenance schedules (PPMs).
- Reduction in equipment downtime.
Attributes:

- Strong troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Proficient in using testing and calibration equipment and reading schematics.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and effective in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
- HNC, City & Guilds, or time-served apprenticeship in engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Experience as an electrically biased engineer, ideally in FMCG or food production.
- 18th Edition certification.

- Flexibility with working hours as required.
