Job Summary
The role is to assist the Fleet, Waste & Infrastructure team in providing a high-quality service by supervising the inspection, servicing, fault diagnosis, and repair of all plant and vehicles used by the council. The position involves ensuring that the service delivery meets high standards of efficiency and effectiveness.


Service Delivery Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Workshop Supervisor/Chargehand Mechanic, the LGV Mechanic will be responsible for:
* Vehicle Inspections: Inspecting vehicles to MOT standard based on VOSA/DSA and manufacturers' specifications, while completing all necessary inspection and quality documentation.
* Servicing: Servicing vehicles and plant according to manufacturers' specifications, using relevant documentation and completing associated paperwork.
* Fault Diagnosis and Repairs: Diagnosing and rectifying faults across vehicle systems, recording completed work on job cards and inspection documents in line with VOSA/DSA and local regulations.
* Flexible Working: Participating in flexible working patterns as required.
* Component Handling: Removing, refitting, and adjusting components to required specifications.
