Job Summary

Alecto Recruitment are working with a specialist water treatment company, who are specialists in the design, manufacture, commission, installation and Service of Water Purification and Treatment Plant and equipment to the Pharmaceutical, Electronics and Manufacturing Industries as well as many others.

We are now looking to appoint full-time experienced Water Purification Field Service Engineer, covering Glasgow, Edinburgh and Scotland, typically within the cnetral belt. You must therefore be willing to commute to various areas within Scotland and the North UK.

The successful candidate will be required to install, commission, service and fault find on the company's own equipment as well as other manufacturers' water purification equipment.

Systems include Reverse Osmosis, De-ionisers, Water Softeners, Filters and UV Filtration, and associated chemicals and consumables. This will suit someone who has strong electrical-mechanical experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

Working on a wide range of electrical mechanical equipment, training will be provided as required. Duties will include Electrical and Mechanical Unit Assembly, Installation, Commissioning, Servicing, Fault Finding, on any of the below;

  • Control Panels - PLC and HMI systems commissioning of Control Panels and Wiring systems Fault Finding
  • Raw and Pure Water Tank and Inlet Pipe Systems - tanks, pumps, Valve arrangements
  • Filter Systems
  • Water Softeners including Simplex, Duplex, and Triplex Systems, Salt Saturators and Brine Systems
  • Reverse Osmosis Systems
  • Deionisers
  • UV Systems
  • Ring Mains Construction and Commissioning

Candidate will also ideally have knowledge of:

  • Water Regulations - understanding of minimum standards required in a Pure Water System
  • Chemical handling - must have some experience of working with chemicals & COSHH Regulations.
  • pH Correction Effluent Systems and Recycling Systems

Qualifications and Skills

City & Guilds (Or Equivalent) in Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical subjects.

Desired Training/Experience in:

  • CSCS/JIB UK-PMES Card or a valid "Pass" on the Health and Safety Exam
  • Water Purification methods & performance
  • PASMA Scaffolding Towers Certificate
  • Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Manual Handling
  • Working at Height
  • Electrical Isolation
  • How to undertake a Risk Assessment

To be considered for this position you will have a comprehensive understanding of electrical and mechanical regulations, working to high standards with strong attention to detail.

You must be willing to travel flexibility for occasional overnight stays when further afield/longer duration work is required.

Applicants who do not possess the above qualifications/training but do have the requisite water purification knowledge/experience may still be considered for this role.
