The role will report to the head of finance and will form part of a specialist team who will oversee a finance assistant.

This opportunity will be based in the office 2 days per week and 3 days from home.

The ResponsibilitiesThe purpose of this role is to assist the organisation in the production and distribution of financial information for the organisation and associated trading entities. You will be seen as a finance subject mater expert and will provide key financial information to stakeholders internally who are non-finance related colleagues.

On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;Production, review and distribution of annual budgets.Analysis of key financial performance around budgets and provide insightful advice around budget variances.Production of financial reports for senior stakeholder review.Assisting the head of finance with policy and procedural process to enhance efficiency.Completion of financial statements and month end board pack.Management of the general ledgers to ensure that financial controls are robust and corporate timetables are adhered to in relation to supplier payments.Line management of 1 finance assistant and take the ownership of the review of their work.

The RequirementsWe are ideally seeking a nearly or newly qualified ACCA/CIMA accountant although our client has indicated that a qualified by experience accountant would not be ruled out. Applicants must have a proven track record of working within an accounting team (within the UK) for a minimum of 4 years. We are seeking an individual who has experience of supervising a team and someone who can demonstrate experience of business partnering non-financial colleagues. The system that our client uses is a mixture of Xero and Excel and applicants who have experience of using Xero would be preferred. We are also seeking intermediate Excel competencies where pivot tables, v-lookups and complex formulae will be required.
