What Are We Looking For?

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health and Safety Advisor to join our team in Glenrothes. The Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective health and safety practices, policies, and procedures throughout the organisation. The role will involve providing guidance, training, and support to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices.

Some of Your Key Duties Include:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards and develop appropriate control measures.
  • Provide advice and support to project teams, supervisors, and employees on health and safety matters, ensuring understanding and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Deliver health and safety training programs to employees, including induction training, toolbox talks, and specific training sessions as required.
  • Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records of health and safety incidents, inspections, training, and other relevant information.
  • Monitor and review health and safety performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of worksites, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and contractors on health and safety matters, representing the company's interests.

What Do You Need?

  • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor or similar role in a construction, engineering, or industrial environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and the ability to identify hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach to health and safety, with the ability to anticipate and address potential issues.
  • NEBOSH certification (National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety) or equivalent qualification is required.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
