Title: Systems Developer

Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 DOE

Location: Glenrothes

Job Purpose:

Development and implementation of systems to support business process in UK and Holland. Including customisation of purchased systems as well as bespoke application development, where required.

Day-to-day:

  • Assist with systems design.
  • Able to quickly understand the functional requirements, and liaise with the Solutions Architects and project managers if there are any areas or issues that need to be clarified.
  • Responsible for system specification. Writing detailed technical specifications for internal & external system developments.
  • Responsible for systems development.
  • Responsible for systems change and customization from high level or detailed technical requirements using the most appropriate technology.
  • Responsible for the development and deployment of accurate business reports.
  • Responsible for the development and deployment of automated business documents such as invoices, order acknowledgments.
  • Responsible for the production of operating instructions and full documentation of systems.
  • Responsible for resolving issues and questions of functionality, input data acquisition, output requirements coding use and modification and inclusion of internal checks and controls for system integrity
  • Responsible for co-ordinating systems testing.
  • Complete familiarity with systems development life cycle and experience in formal systems, analysis, procedures, tools and techniques
  • Assist with other team responsibilities when appropriate
  • Assist the Technical support role in enterprise backups, general desktop and application support
  • Responsible for carrying out data migration tasks as required
  • Liaise with ICT Solutions Architect on the co-ordination of individual projects.
  • Ensuring that systems adhere to best practice and conform to the technical strategy.

  • Must demonstrate good customer focus.

Any other additional competencies?

  • Expertise in web based technologies, development and practices.
  • Expertise in database technologies in both development and admin, methods and practices,
  • Expertise in reporting technologies in both development and admin, methods and practices.
  • Demonstratable experience of ERP systems.
  • Expertise in VB and C#, ASP.NET, XSL/XML, MS SQL, Crystal Enterprise XL, SSRS, Data Warehousing, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Epicor Kinetic Development.
