M&E Contracts Manager - £50,000 & Package & Company Bonus & Personal Bonus - Hyde Greater Manchester

The M&E Contracts Manager will play a crucial role in supporting  M&E Managers , client consultants , and other professionals to determine project specifications. You will be expected to control between 2-3 sites simultaneously and create programmes from your own sites. Site values will range from £100k - £5M and will be located throughout the North West and surrounding areas. You will be based at our office near Hyde, Greater Manchester and deliver the Mechanical aspects of commercial, education and healthcare projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Coordination: Lead and coordinate electrical and mechanical projects in the context of fit outs from inception to completion, including scheduling, cost estimation, and budget management.
  2. Material and Equipment Procurement: Plan and oversee the procurement of necessary materials and equipment for fit-out projects.
  3. Team Management: Manage project staff, subcontractors, and consultants, ensuring that each project team functions efficiently within the fit out environment.
  4. Site Management: Oversee construction site managers daily, including supervising labour forces, monitoring subcontractors, inspecting work, and maintaining quality control for fitouts.
  5. Project Timeline and Budget Adherence: Ensure Retail fit-out projects are delivered on time and within budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing on budgets, and monitoring progress.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, surveyors, and engineers to review design documents and ensure project alignment with fit-out specifications.
  7. Health and Safety: Promote and maintain health and safety standards within the unique context of fitouts, including conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with safety rules.
  8. Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, including work schedules and progress updates, to keep clients and stakeholders informed.
  9. Stakeholder Management: Maintain regular communication and attend meetings with Retail clients, their representatives, consultants, subcontractors, and others involved in the Retail fit-out project.
  10. Problem Solving: Address any unexpected issues that may arise during the fit-out project.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a M&E Contracts Manager - Mechanical Bias
  • Experience with the NICEIC procedures.
  • Mechanical qualifications and certifications are essential
  • Experience in HVAC systems.
  • Current CSCS Card (Managers Recognition).
  • Valid UK driver's license.
  • Experience in managing multiple sites.
  • Strong man-management skills.
  • Extensive experience in budget management and project cost control.
  • Proficiency in pre-contract coordination.
  • Willingness to travel to visit sites & meet the client when necessary
