We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Cook in Charge to join a dedicated team delivering catering services in a busy educational setting. If you enjoy working in a kitchen, supervising others, and providing wholesome meals, this could be the perfect opportunity.

? About the Role:

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, including:

  • Preparing, cooking, and serving meals according to set menus and portion guidelines

  • Ordering supplies and managing stock levels

  • Ensuring food hygiene and health & safety standards are met

  • Supervising kitchen staff and providing on-the-job training

  • Preparing packed lunches for off-site activities

  • Maintaining records and completing admin tasks using basic ICT systems

? We’re Looking For:

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Previous catering experience, ideally in a similar setting

  • Experience supervising or managing staff

  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety legislation

  • Ability to work flexibly and reliably as part of a team

  • Basic administrative and ICT skills

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate

  • NQF Level 2 (e.g. GCSEs 4-9, NVQ Level 2, City & Guilds 7061/7062)

  • OR equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience
