Belcan Workforce Solutions are seeking a Financial Accountant on an 8-month contract to join our client's Finance team in Filton.

The client is offering £50.84 per hour Umbrella, the role is Inside of IR35. This is a hybrid opportunity and will require a minimum of 3 days per week on-site in Filton. UK travel to other offices will be required 1-2 days per month.

Role Overview:

Our client is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering fixed asset financial information for one of their sites and supporting fixed asset activities for the main client. This role requires strong analytical skills and a proactive mindset to identify potential issues and errors in the data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with due diligence on the opening balance sheet.
  • Load assets into SAP with correct data attributes.
  • Define and document key financial processes and controls.
  • Ensure internal controls are in place in line with the companies ERM requirements.
  • Accurately record fixed asset additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Provide advice on capitalisation rules and depreciation policies.
  • Cleanse the asset register through regular data checks and physical verification oversight.
  • Provide information to the tax team for annual tax computations.
  • Contribute to internal and external audits.
  • Continually review processes and procedures to identify and implement improvements.

For the Main Client

  • Support key controls such as Entry into Service validation and capex/opex checks.
  • Provide accurate data for physical verification exercises.
  • Contribute to transnational and local projects, including harmonisation of group processes.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant with experience in an accounting team.
  • Understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience in SAP or equivalent financial reporting tools.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, enthusiastic team with a positive, proactive mindset.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with multiple stakeholders at different levels and in different countries.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience interacting with internal and external audit teams.

Given the role's nature, the selected candidate will undergo BPSS clearance before starting.
