This will be initially on a 6 months fixed term contract however there could be future permanent opportunities for the right candidate.

As the Management Accountant reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be instrumental in adding value and contributing to the commercial decisions based on sound financial fact and analysis. Day to day control and responsibility of all the divisions’ finances, processes and reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Interpret and present financial data with appropriate clear, concise analysis.

- Analyse and deliver insight that links financial reports to business objectives.

- Use 'big’ and 'small’ data, with appropriate tools to manipulate, analyse and interpret it in sophisticated, audience appropriate ways.

- Challenge the Directors and Senior Management within each division.

- Working together, maintain and obtain data to support the divisions management decisions.

- Support those within each division who have limited financial knowledge to develop a greater financial understanding and enforce discipline regarding core processes.

- Actively influence day to day decisions, shaping strategy and the direction of the business.

- Deliver and challenge the annual budgeting and re-forecasting process for each division.

- Provide financial insight into the budgets and forecasts.

- Engage division delivery teams educating them in the budget process, gaining their input, understanding and adherence to the budget during event delivery.

- Monthly accurate reporting on risks and opportunities to budget.

- Provide effective commercial procedures, or initiate change, to ensure key operational, commercial, and financial targets are delivered.

- Maintain timely, accurate recording of financial data.

- Analyse event P&Ls, identifying areas of underperformance and suggest solutions where appropriate.

- Production and review of quarterly VAT returns.

- Ensuring that the annual audit is actioned quickly, providing all evidence as required.

- Work collaboratively with the divisions’ reporting through to the group finance function.

- Take responsibility to increase efficiency within the accounting process ensuring joined-up thinking between

- Day to day control of the divisions’ finances including production of monthly management accounts, budgets and reporting analysis.

- Form and stand over your own opinions, have a well-developed sense of ethics and be prepared to stand by these principles.

Candidate Attributes:

- Experience of managing relationships and being able to impact and influence senior non-financial management.

- Experience of performing detailed financial performance analysis, with high standards, accuracy, and presentation.

- Knowledge of balance sheet controls and reconciliations.

- Experience of preparing basic management and statutory accounts.

- Fully or part Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) desirable but not essential.
