The business is well established and has an excellent reputation for the design and installation of high value turn-key equipment for a global market. They are looking to recruit an experienced Functional Safety Compliance Engineer who will manage the safety of product and equipment. This is a hybrid role, with three days expected on site.

Role & Responsibilities:o You will be responsible for the Functional Safety of two critical aspects, a high tech manufactured product and in house bespoke electro-mechanical machinery.o You will risk assess equipment designs, identifying and defining system requirements and provide expert advice and input around functional safety and compliance. o Collaborate within a multi-disciplined team, gathering requirements to understand the purpose and use of equipment.o Risk Assess equipment designs, identifying / defining safety system requirements, working to define appropriate safety system architectures when required. o Assess designs of safety circuits and systems, to achieve the defined safety ratings. Generate related documentation and provide guidance and training as required. Undertake Machinery Safety assessments and undertake / manage all aspects of '13849' Part 1 (& 2) and related Standards. Undertake / lead FMEDA/FMEA activities where required.Knowledge, Skills & Experience:o Qualified to HNC level in Electrical Engineeringo Experience with high tech electrical / mechanical machines and power systemso Familiar with a number of the following: 2006/42/EC - Machinery Directive, 2014/35/EU low Voltage Directive, or BS EN 60204 - Safety of Machinery o Experience with adjustable speed electrical power drive systems Safety requirements.
