Our client based in Gloucester are looking for an experienced quality engineer to join their growing team. You will be aligned to the Quality department Working alongside the Quality team, you'll play a pivotal role across all business units and departments managing processes and standardising metrics. You'll mentor employees to cover the quality basics and support the Quality team across all departmental activities. You'll manage Quality for any Build to print or Design Make contracts, working with customers and Internal Stake holders to maintain compliance. In addition to the main responsibilities detailed below, you will be expected to support the business by undertaking additional adhoc duties as required.
Key Responsibilities – Quality Engineer
- Aligned to quality department you will be responsible for implementing robust quality controls to meet the requirements of AS9100 rev D /9001:2015, relevant specifications and customer specific requirements. Control of quality documentation, responsible for updating and revision control for procedures, supporting documents etc.
- Work across company departments as required to support day to day quality management.
- Identifying and diagnosing workmanship problems in Production processes using 5 why's or similar method and leading Root Cause Investigations.
- Deal with day-to-day quality issues and problem solving.
- Hands on support with inspection / laboratory when required
- Completion of supplier quality audits (when required)
- Completion of internal audits
Qualifications & Requirements – Quality Engineer
- Experienced Quality Engineering background.
- Experienced working within AS9100rev D, / ISO9001:2015 quality certified organisation
- Knowledge of AS9102 FAIR requirements
- Ability to read and interrogate engineering drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Experienced in use of conventional inspection equipment.
- Experienced in 8D activities.
- Competent in use of Microsoft office
