Shorterm are partnered with a well known British name to recruit a Quality Engineer for a new manufacturing site based in Gloucester. Based on-site, 40hrs / week you will be working with a brand new team, in at the beginning of a ground-breaking project!
To be our next Quality Engineer, you should have a solid background in quality/mechanical engineering, with some experience with basic electrical quality checks (continuity testing, measuring instruments etc.) and some previous involvement in structuring of QMS/assisting with QMS audits.
The successful Quality Engineer will be responsible for:
Roaming and end of line inspection.
Compiling quality reports based on shop floor metrics.
Interpreting drawings and identifying critical dimensions
Using a broad range of measuring instruments to monitor dimensional compliance.
Creating a quarantine area and raising quarantine notes
Ensure batch traceability is preserved through all operations.
Maintaining/improving our QMS
Requirements
A proven track record of shop floor quality supervision (essential). 3-5 years minimum experience
Proven experience in maintaining relevant KPIs (CPK etc)
An understanding of ISO 9001/2, with a view to future implementation (desirable)
A working knowledge of Shewhart charts, Gage R&R / ARNOVA (desirable)
A relevant certificate or diploma in Quality management or similar (desirable)
Six Sigma qualification (desirable)
