Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer
Location: Gloucester
Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities of a Senior Quality Engineer:
- Monitor, assess and report on product and process quality to ensure manufacturing meets required standards.
- Carry out root cause analysis and problem solving using recognised methodologies such as 5 Why, 8D, A3 or DMAIC.
- Raise and manage corrective action requests, ensuring timely and effective close-out.
- Support and drive Lean and Six Sigma methodologies across the business unit.
- Promote a Zero Non-Conformance and Right First Time culture.
- Review and improve standard operating procedures and processes.
- Conduct internal and external quality and compliance audits.
- Analyse customer complaints, contributing to continuous improvement of customer satisfaction and business KPIs.
- Produce quality reports and maintain accurate quality documentation.
Key Skills and Experience of a Senior Quality Engineer:
- Minimum HNC in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Quality Management Diploma (or equivalent).
- Trained in Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, 8D, A3, DMAIC).
- Qualified Internal Auditor (Lead Auditor certification beneficial).
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Experienced in structured, data-driven problem solving and continuous improvement practices.
- Working knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies is desirable.
- Competent user of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Minimum one year of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and practical background.
