Robert Half are pleased to be partnering with a well-established business who are seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join the team in Gloucestershire. This is a full-time, on-site role, reporting to the Financial Controller. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the purchase ledger function, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full purchase ledger process from purchase order to supplier payment
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Oversee and develop the company's purchase order and invoice approval system
  • Educate staff across the business on purchase order processes to ensure tight financial controls
  • Understand the impact of the purchase ledger on the general ledger to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Reconcile supplier statements monthly and manage invoice authorisation across the company
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller and accounts team to process payments

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of purchase ledger experience
  • Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to take full ownership of the purchase ledger
  • Proactive, organised, and able to improve financial processes
  • Local to Tetbury with own transport
