ROLE – Graduate Lab Technician  SALARY - £25,000- £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)TYPE – PermanentLOCATION – Gloucestershire  My client designs and manufactures specialist products and systems within the Renewable Energy sector. They are looking for a Graduate Lab Technician to join their team in Gloucestershire on a permanent basis. The Lab Technician will ideally have the following attributes:
  • Ideally be Degree qualified in a Chemistry or a related discipline
  • Excellent hands-on skills, with experience working in a lab
  • Management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills 
  • Proven ability to take a leadership role and motivate others
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
Responsibilities include:
  • Prepare and conduct laboratory experiments under the guidance of senior researchers.
  • Perform testing and analysis on materials and prototypes.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Accurately document results and compile data for reports.
  • Support the design and assembly of test setups and prototypes.
  • Solving problems and improving engineering processes
  • Being involved in designing, implementing and overseeing project plans  
  • Liaising with other departments to manage such projects 
  • Ensuring quality and H&S standards are met 
  • Design equipment layouts 
  • Maintaining technical documentation as required 
  • Keeping up to date with reports and developments in inorganic chemistry 
  • Pushing for constant progression for product development and manufacturing techniques
