Sales Account Manager - Science & Materials

Our excellent client in Dursley (Gloucestershire) is currently looking for a Sales Account Manager to join their friendly team on a full time, permanent basis. This is a small, close knit team of around 11 with plans to grow the team. You will work closely with the owner of the business and will have opportunity to grow your role and responsibility long term.

To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience in Sales, ideally with a Science/Materials/Technical/Engineering type background as customers and their sites can range from science labs to materials testing sites.

Whilst this role will involve some consultative sales, the main responsibility will be to act as a proactive point of contact for existing customers to ensure their needs are met, orders are communicated, and project timelines are kept on track. The company offers an existing suite of products but can also manufacture bespoke products for their clients. Therefore, part of your role will involve visiting customer sites to fully understand their requirements. This will typically be around 1-2 times per week but may increase or decrease depending on customer needs.

In return, you will be offered a competitive (and negotiable) bonus and salary package detailed below, including £5-10k bonus OTE, £400 car allowance, laptop and phone provided, holiday entitlement of 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities

- Nurturing current relationships.

- Visit customer sites in person to understand full requirements of bespoke orders when placed (around 1-2 days per week).

- Update customers on project timelines, communicating delays when necessary.

- Ensure technical requirements communicated to wider team/engineers.

- Maximise company profit by proactively checking back in with existing customers.

- Some outbound new business work when necessary and relevant.

Key Attributes

- Materials / Science background / ability to understand technical information

- Previous sales experience.

- Happy to work in person in the office in Gloucestershire and visit customer site when required.

- Full driving license

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm

Salary: £40-50k basic salary + £5-£10k bonus + £400 car allowance + Laptop & Phone. Holiday entitlement of 25 days plus bank holidays. Package negotiable for the right individual.
