Join Gloucestershire County Council in a pivotal role as a MASH Deputy Team Manager. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the safeguarding of children within the community, ensuring every child receives the right support at the right time.

About the Role

As a MASH Deputy Team Manager, you will: * Assist with the day-to-day operations of the MASH, collaborating closely with Team Managers and partner agencies. * Review and prioritise urgent safeguarding contacts, provide initial case direction, and allocate tasks to Social Workers. * Ensure all contacts are reviewed appropriately, with proportionate enquiries undertaken and responded to within set timescales. * Provide robust management oversight and document decision-making processes. * Be available for case discussions, supporting Social Workers throughout the day. * Work closely with Assessment Teams to ensure effective transfer of cases, with initial recommendations that consider risk appropriately. * Occasionally deputise for the Team Manager, chairing MASH Strategy Discussions as needed and supporting the performance development of team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Recognised qualification in Social Work.
  • Passed the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) if qualified after 2012.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience within a Front Door/MASH Service, or substantial experience in a Duty & Assessment Team.
  • Skilled in identifying and responding to risk and harmful behaviour.
  • Capable of making safe, robust decisions, prioritising workload, and multitasking in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of key legislation and evidence-based, practical approaches to child welfare.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to drive.
  • DBS clearance.
